TMA Bucks Partners With Family Service Association For Holiday RUSH For Hunger Food Drive

TMA Bucks (Transportation Management Association) announced today its Holiday RUSH For Hunger Food Drive will benefit the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, a program of Family Service Association.  Non-perishable food items will be collected on the Bristol rushbus and Richboro-Warminster rushbus public transit services as well as the following locations from December 3 – 10:

  • TMA Bucks Transit Commuter Store, 7 Neshaminy Interplex, Suite 103, Trevose
  • Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, 409 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills
  • State Representative Tina Davis’ District Office, 3611 Green Lane, Levittown
  • Senator Tommy Tomlinson’s Bensalem Office, Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau, 3207 Street Rd, Bensalem
  • Bensalem Township Municipal Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem
  • Family Service Association, 4 Cornerstone Drive, Langhorne

“As a local organization, TMA Bucks understands how important it is to give back to the community that we serve,” said TMA Bucks executive director Bill Rickett in making the announcement. “The holiday season represents a time for families to gather together and share a meal. During the holidays and all year round, organizations like the Family Service Association and the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter ensure that our neighbors, who need assistance, get the chance to share that special time.”

Items such as canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and rice, healthy single serving snacks, 100 % fruit juice boxes and bottled water are in high demand for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter.

“We are thrilled TMA Bucks has offered to partner with Family Service Association to help the most vulnerable people in our community,” said Family Service Association chief executive officer Audrey Tucker. “The Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter serves three meals a day to 70-80 residents, seven days a week, 365 days a year, so obviously a full food pantry is a must to meet such a basic need.  The scope of this drive gives our community an easy way to join in the effort of helping our county’s homeless.”

TMA Bucks is a 501 (c) 4 non-profit transportation management association in Bucks County designed to promote and coordinate travel demand management strategies to reduce peak-hour traffic congestion and serve as a clearinghouse for transportation policies and programs. The TMA is also membership supported and businesses can learn more about the benefits of membership at tmabucks.com.
