Visit Bucks County Welcomes New Hire in Marketing and Sales Department
This month, Visit Bucks County, the official tourism promotion agency for Bucks County, welcomes Rachel Wolkiewicz as the new Meeting and Events Sales Manager.
Rachel joins the tourism office’s Marketing and Sales team from the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) where she managed the Tour and Travel, Association, Convention, Social, Military, Educational, Religious and Fraternal sales markets. During her time at the York County CVB, Rachel generated leads and secured bookings for each of her markets, including an impressive 1,800 room nights for the American Truck Historical Society’s 2015 National Convention.
In her new position at Visit Bucks County, Rachel will play a key role in bringing business to the county by developing relationships and facilitating leads with regional meeting and event planners. Her markets include Association, Corporate, Religious, Government, Military and Family Reunion. While Bucks County is primarily a leisure destination, meetings and events play a critical role in creating economic impact for the county.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel to Visit Bucks County,” said Jerry Lepping, Executive Director. “With Rachel’s skill set and passion for sales, she’s going to do a great job connecting our hospitality partners to the meeting and event decision makers throughout the Mid-Atlantic.”
Rachel is a Temple University alumna where she graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Tourism & Hospitality Management. During her time at Temple, Rachel co-founded the Temple University chapter of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI) and grew it to be the largest chapter in the United States. Rachel is currently continuing her education and is working toward earning her Certified Travel Industry Specialist certification through the American Bus Association.
A Bucks County native, Rachel enjoys trying new restaurants, exploring local wineries and craft breweries, spending time with her family and traveling.
