A Bensalem man is in jail on charges that he repeatedly raped a 13-year-old girl starting when she was 10 years old, according to reports.
The 40-year-old man is in jail after he was unable to post $10 million bail, the Associated Press reported.
"Bensalem police say the girl told them the incidents began three years ago and stopped last year," the article said. But she told school officials that the man wanted the sexual encounters to start up again.
PhillyBurbs reported that the school officials then notified Bensalem Police Special Victims Unit on Wednesday, March 20 about the sexual assault allegations.
The girl told a forensic interviewer at the Bucks County Children's Advocacy Center that the assaults took place in the man’s home on Gibson Road, the article said.
Michael Somahkawahho was arraigned on Thursday, March 21, PhillyBurbs said, on charges of child rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault on a child and related offenses.
