Local Catholic Schools Rank High in National Math Contest

St. Charles Borromeo ranks No. 7 and St. Ephrem No. 35.

Parish schools throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, including two in Bensalem, have received recognition for their excellent performance in an eight-month long national math competition, First In Math.

According to a release, the online competition is designed to help students in grades K-8 practice math skills at all levels.

Locally, students from St. Charles Borromeo finished seventh and St. Ephrem finished 35th.

"We could not be more proud of the way our schools and our students have performed in this year's First In Math competition; these are stellar results" said Dr. Richard McCarron, secretary of education for the Archdiocese. "This level of achievement is testament to the endless dedication of our teachers and the enthusiasm and commitment of our parents and students."
