Missing Man's Mother Seeks Answers
The mother of a man who was last seen more than a month ago seeks answers to her sons whereabouts.
The mother of a man who was last seen more than a month ago asks for the community's help in locating her son.
Marcian Newman, 35, was last seen on Jan. 27 leaving his residence at 1928 Arrowood Dr. in Bensalem, according to his mother, Sondra Yordy and Bensalem Township Police.
Yordy said that it wasn't unusual for her son, who suffers from schizophrenia, to leave the house. He would go out and buy cigarettes, or maybe meet up with friends she said, but he always returned home.
"I know he always goes out, but he always come back. And he didn't come back," she said.
Yordy first contacted Bensalem Township Police after Newman was missing for 24 hours. She also alerted his case manager who would visit the home three times daily to give Newman medication. Along with her husband and the case manager, Yordy filed a report with the police.
She said she last saw Newman when she was cooking at the home on Jan. 27, but that she didn't actually see him leave the house.
"When he left the house, I didn't see," Yordy told Patch. "I was sleeping. My husband told me he saw him went out the door."
Yordy said that she doesn't know any of Newman's friends so she doesn't have any idea where he could be.
"I dont know any friends he has. He never really tell you about his friends. and he never tells you where he is going," she said. "My husband was the one saw him that evening. Only noticed he had on a hat."
Newman is a 6-foot-tall black man with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 165 pounds and has a goatee.
Yordy said that the police told her they haven't seen him out anywhere and have only received one report from someone who may have seen him.
"One day the police told me... that a crossing guard saw him in Penndel," Yordy said. "To this day I'm wondering if the crossing guard saw the right person. She believed it was him."
Yordy said that she hopes that if anyone else has seen Newman that they will contact the police.
Sgt. Andrew Aninsman of the Bensalem Township Police Special Victims Unit asks that if you have any information as to Newman's whereabouts, that you call 215-633-3713 or call 911.
