Officer Lorenzo Interfaith Service Planned for Tomorrow

It will be held at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City.

 

 

On Friday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m., there will be an Interfaith Service for Officer Brian Lorenzo held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, located at 18th Street and Ben Franklin Parkway.

Lorenzo was killed Sunday, July 8 in a traffic accident on I-95 near Cottman Avenue in Philadelphia. His motorcycle was struck was struck by a vehicle driven the wrong way on the highway by John Leck Jr., 48, of Levittown.

Leck was allegedly intoxicated and faces vehicular homicide charges. He was reported to have been drinking at the Friday's on Street Road prior to the crash.

Lorenzo was buried at Bensalem’s Resurrection Cemetery on July 13.

According to a Philadelphia Police traffic advisory, the service in Center City this Friday will cause intermittent closures around the area of the Cathedral, from 17th Street to 20th Street from Vine Street to Cherry Street. In addition, the inner drives of the Ben Franklin Parkway will also be closed. There will be police assigned in the area to assist with traffic control, however, delays should be expected in the area around the Cathedral from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How's the internal investigation going @ Fridays? Why not a proactive police investigation? Drug dealers go to jail, shouldnt Booze dealers that cause death go to jail? . Allegedly!!! Hell someone that doesnt harm anyone or anything who has over a .08(yet more functional than most drivers) can go to jail?
