They are known as many things throughout the country. Some call them heroes; other refer to them as submarines; and to others they are po’ boys.
But in Philly and the surrounding area, we call them hoagies and that’s the topic of this week’s Readers’ Choice Patch Poll. Who’s got the best hoagie?
There are plenty of places to choose from, including: J & M Deli, Hoagie Kitchen, Lee’s Hoagie House, Jack’s Cold Cuts, Belly Busters, Stefanos, Wawa, Apollo's, Subway, Vincenzo's, Primo's or Rainbow Market.
Vote for your favorite spot in the poll below by this Friday at 9 a.m. and don't forget to click on the links above and rate the restaurant on its Patch Place listing. You can even leave a review.
If there another hoagie joint that we missed in this poll, tell us in the comments section below and we’ll add it.
In the event of a tie on our survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written below about the tied restaurants, so please let us know why you think your choice is best. The official rules are attached to this article as a PDF document.

How did Wawa not make it as a choice.
I woudl like Subway, if they weren't so customer UN-friendly....at least the Street Road location.

Apollo's Family Pizzeria has been making great hoagies since 1974. I think the key ingredient with Apollo's is that it has been family owned and operated from day one.

The Rainbow market at 13 and gravel pike has great hoagies too! They have fresh rolls, D&W meats, and are only $3.95!

I prefer Rainbow Foodmart's hoagies. This is a new store at 1574 Bristol Pike so I've gave it a try. The use really good meat, and personally I think their hoagies are the best!!

At Apollo's, Pete and his family put together the best tasting Hoagie, but the Italian dishes are just like MAMA's cooking. MMMMMMMMMMMM Good.

Gotta love Lee's. I grew up eating them and they're still great.

There are plenty of places to get a good Hoagie in Bensalem. If you don't make a good hoagie, you are soon out of the hoagie business. My vote goes a little deeper, looking at the people who run the places, or own them. Pete, at Apollo's, is one of the nicest people you would ever get to deal with. When I spend my hard earned money, I like seeing it go to support a place owned by good people. Apollo's is top dog in that category, and gets all my take out, delivery, and dine in business.
