@Tom Sofield - Alaska is amazing! Pictures don't come close to showing the magnificent beauty of the mountains and glaciers! Make sure you put Alaska on your "bucket list"!

We went to Punta Cana in the beginning of the summer. It seems like a blur, but lots of great pics to remember the fun!

@JR Sr, that photo of the night sky above the beach at Hilton Head is amazing! How did you capture that?

Sara, first, thank you! It definitely helped that you could just about see the dust lane and the gas and star clouds with your naked eye, but with a wide open aperture, some slow shutter speeds, and a bit of knowledge as to where to look, add to that a little bit of post processing to sharpen and coax a bit more detail out of the image.....
This is actually 12 to 16 shots stitched together in photoshop, as my widest lens was not wide enough to capture everything in the frame.

There are some really nice pictures in this group, and some look like a slide show of Aunt Edna's and Uncle Harvey's summer travels......yawn. It would be tough to choose between Milky Way in Hilton Head and the beautiful pictures from Ireland. I would lean towards made in America though. I also liked the Delaware and Raritin Canal - nice!

Why did none of Ron Donocoff's photos make it into the finalists? Those sunsets are amazing!
