Police Investigate Pedestrian Accident

Pedestrian was listed in critical condition.

 

On Sunday, March 25 at 8:40 p.m., Bensalem police responded to a pedestrian accident in the 1500 block of Bristol Pike.

According to police, investigation found that a gold Cadillac SRX operated by an 83-year-old male from Greenwood Avenue, Jenkintown was traveling south on Bristol Pike in the area of Gravel Pike when a 54-year-old male from Bensalem began crossing Bristol Pike. According to police, the pedestrian was wearing dark clothes when he was struck.

The pedestrian was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he is listed in critical condition with multiple broken bones and head trauma. 

Alcohol and drugs are not a factor in the accident as it relates to the driver but police are awaiting blood results of the pedestrian. Also speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident. Police are withholding the pedestrian’s name until family is notified.

The investigation on going by Bensalem Police Accident Investigations Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call officers Moretti or Reheil at 215-633-3719

So the scuttlebut at the Wawa located near this accident scene was that the pedestrian was a well known drunk and illegal alien who was no stranger to trouble when drinking. If this is true my sympathy lies with the driver of the car who would be the true victim of this horrible story.
