State Police Report Drug Arrests, DUI, Hit & Run
The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police station in Trevose. It does not imply conviction.
Between Jan. 28 and Feb. 2, Trevose troopers investigated the following incidents:
On Jan. 28 at 1:15 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-95 northbound at Exit 44 in Middletown. Police arrest David Bertino, 34, of Fairless Hills, and Richard Alpaugh, 21, of Bensalem. Both had active warrants from Philadelphia and Falls Township. A search of the vehicle yielded five baggies of suspected heroin, two needles and two empty baggies of suspected cocaine. They suspects were processed and released to Philadelphia and Falls Township police. Charges to be filed in district court. Trooper Daniel Onisick investigated the incident.
On Feb. 1 at 12:22 p.m., state police responded to a hit-and-run accident at the Exit 40 ramp from I-95 northbound. Police said a Willow Grove woman in a Ford Expedition was stopped in traffic when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a beige Chrysler PT Cruiser that fled the scene northbound on Route 413. The driver was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s whose vehicle reportedly sustained front end damage. The victim’s vehicle sustained rear end damage. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information should contact state police. Trooper Erik Sinwich investigated the incident.
On Feb. 2 at 1:24 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-95 northbound at milepost 37.9 in Bensalem. Police said the driver Michael P. Elwell, 28, of Philadelphia, appeared to be unsteady and incapable of safe driving. He was evaluated by Drug Recognition Expert Christopher Nacios and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Nacios refused to submit to a chemical test. He was processed, released and faces charges in district court. Trooper Craig Acord investigated the incident.
