The local teen who was struck by a car in a crosswalk on his way to his Bensalem Boulevard school bus stop Thursday morning died from his injuries early Saturday.

Ryan Viola, 17, a senior at Bucks County Technical High School, passed away after he was removed from life support at Aria Hospital Torresdale, according to PhillyBurbs.

According to NBC, Lisa Ann Murray, 54, of Philadelphia, said she never saw the Viola because it was too dark at 6:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. She reportedly had the green light.

Reports say Murray was driving with a suspended license and may face charges related to that.

My heart goes out to his family ~ so unsafe for kids to have to be out in the dark in those early morning hours.

I have 3 kids of my own and I cannot begin to imagine the hell Ryan's parents are going through right now. Although I do not know them, they have been in my thoughts almost constantly since Thursday morning. From my family to yours, you have our heartfelt condolences. Rest in peace, Ryan.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends ..they should have brighter lights and or a crossing gaurd for kids that walk along that road so early to get to school ..such a shame to lose a young life ..

The school bus stop is across a street with a speed limit of 40. He was crossing in the dark, against the light, which any teen would do. Can the bus route be changed to pick up on both sides of this street? And, lower the speed limit too.

Rip Ryan! Condolences to the family. Such a tragedy. Maybe kids shouldn't cross the street for the bus and even more so since it's still dark. Come on Bensalem! There's a lack of side walks all over Bensalem as well. I know when my kids walk to school they don't even have a sidewalk to walk on!!!

Rip Ryan. Gone to young and too soon. My deepest sympathies to the family and his friends. The one person I feel sorry for the most is his younger brother who was there and saw the whole thing. I read the article and his fb post. God bless all if you.
