Troopers Charge Newtown Man in DUI Crash

State Police responded to the scene of an accident in Hulmeville and found the driver to be under the influence.

 

 

The following arrest information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction.

Trevose troopers arrested an allegedly drunk driver after a car crash in Bucks County.

On Aug. 21 at 5:53 p.m., state police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on S. Bellevue Avenue in Hulmeville.

Police said a vehicle driven by James C. Merrill, 39, of Newtown, struck another vehicle driven by a 31-year-old woman from Bensalem.

No serious injuries were reported.

Upon investigation, Merrill was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DUI and the traffic violations related to the crash.

Merrill was given a blood test, processed and released. He faces charges in district court.
