Paul and Colleen Dziewisz have seen the damage left behind by Hurricane Sandy and think there is strength in numbers.

So they are organizing the Bux-Mont Hurricane Sandy Clean-up Team.

UPDATE: The meet-up location for both Saturday and Sunday will be at 7 a.m. at the Central Bucks West High School parking lot located at Rt. 202 and Lafayette Street in Doylestown.

Here's the message Paul put out on the group's newly formed Facebook page:

This Saturday and Sunday I am organizing a Hurricane Sandy cleanup effort for Bucks and Eastern Montco. Colleen and I feel the need to roll up our sleeves and help some people.

We are trying to put together a large group of volunteers to go out in teams of four to do safe and meaningful cleanup for Bux/Mont residents who need help. We expect to help with tree and branch removal, yard damage, water cleanup, etc. Here’s where you come in…

This is how you can help the effort:

1)      Volunteer your time and join us. We will be going out on Saturday and Sunday. If you can come either day or both that would be great. If you can’t do a full day then do a half day. If you’re better at organizing than at hauling branches that is great too.

2)      Volunteer your tools. We will need…    

a.       Wheel barrows

b.      Trash bags

c.       Shovels

d.      Gloves

e.      Chainsaws

f.        Ropes

g.       Hammers, nails, etc.

h.      Ladders

3)      Let us know of anyone that is in need of help. There are a lot of Bux/Mont folks still struggling. We need to match up people in need with our effort. I’ll be reaching out through social media and to local municipalities over the next couple days to get names as well.

4)      Spread the word for us on social media, through email and word of mouth. A lot of people want to help but don’t know what they can do. We’ll get them working to help. I setup a Facebook group called "Bux-Mont Hurricane Sandy Cleanup Team". Please join it to spread the word.
