What Would You Like to See Go Here?
We are asking the community its opinion on empty stores. Here's your chance to express your views.
There are three empty storefronts in the Salem Center 2 strip mall in the 3600 block of Hulmeville Road. What kind of business would you like to see fill the vacancies.
Existing stores include: the Grooming Shoppe, Weight Watchers, Mane Expressions, A-1 Cleaners, Old Friends Pizza, MiMi Nails & Spa, The Quilt Academy and Best AcuCare.
The strip mall is sandwiched between PNC Bank and 7-Eleven. It’s connected to Salem Center 1 by a driveway behind the 7-Eleven. It’s is across the street from the Bensalem Library.
Anyone interested in leasing one or all of these storefronts should contact David Fiori Realtors at 215-245-2000.
We were hoping to get the public's opinion on what should go here. What do you want to see in this location? Would you like to see a bar/restaurant? Or is it about time they put something different there?
Leave your thoughts in the comments section and keep an eye out for more vacant stores like this. If you see another property you think we should highlight, email me at joe.hart@patch.com or add it to the comments section.

One of the storefronts would fit a good size restaurant and a liquor license is available. Would a chain restaurant work here? What kind of restaurant would you like to see here?

There are too many chain restaurants already in Bensalem. I'd like to see a nice independently owned restaurant move in. But if a chain restaurant is a must, then I vote for Mad Mex!! I think it would also be nice if maybe a FroYo store moved in, like Twisted Yogurt in Horsham. These types of stores are becoming more and more popular, and it's time Bensalem got in on the trend.

@Eileen I concur! Bensalem needs a Whole Foods or a Trader Joe's, only I think the Salem Center is the wrong location for either!

In the big space, I'd like to see a German restaurant. I'd like to be able to have it without going to Rockledge. In one of the smaller spaces, I'd love to see an independent coffee shop, no Starbucks.

There are probably not enough college graduates in the immediate area for them to open a Whole Foods. A large percentage of the population must be college grads for Whole Foods to even begin contemplating opening one.
