VJM Grad Makes Catholic University Dean's List Thursday in Bensalem

Check out what's happening around town on Thursday.

  • Katelyn Leon of Bensalem, a member of the class of 2010 from Villa Joseph Marie High School, has been named to the spring 2013 Dean's List with distinction at The Catholic University of America (CUA), according to a release. In order to qualify for the Dean's List with distinction at CUA, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.75 with a minimum of 15 credits. The soon to be a senior at CUA just returned from studying at Oxford University in England.  This is Leon’s fourth consecutive Dean’s List Achievement.
  • Bensalem and Penndel police conducted a joint investigation that resulted in the arrest Tuesday of a Bensalem man accused of possessing child pornography, according to phillyburbs.com. Carlos Araujo was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Baranoski and has been sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
  • President Barack Obama formally canceled a visit to Moscow next month for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, citing a lack of progress in bilateral relations since Putin regained the presidency a year ago, according to CNN.
  • More clouds for Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, with possible showers and a thunderstorm in the afternoon.
