Great art is not only all around us in the Delaware Valley. Great artists are our neighbors.
World-renowned artist Nelson Shanks --- portrait painter of individuals as famous as Lady Diana and Pope John Paul II (as well as a couple of US Presidents) --- lives and works in Bensalem, Bucks County.
This month, Shanks is enjoying the opportunity to share his work with the Delaware Valley at an exhibition of his work at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. It features his newest painting, a luscious and atmospheric portrait of a belly dancer as a key attraction in the show "Nelson Shanks: A Brush With Reality."
The artist is equally excited that his art school, Studio Incamminati in Center City Philadelphia, has reached the 10 year milestone, educating fine artists from around the globe.
