TREVOSE, Pa. — The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recently recognized TruMark Financial with the Louise Herring Philosophy-In-Action Member Service and Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Awards at its Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. CUNA is the largest national trade association in the United States serving America’s credit unions.

The Louise Herring Award recognizes credit unions that offer educational seminars, provide services for members with unique financial needs, and demonstrate extraordinary efforts to serve their membership. Opening a branch in 2009 at 5th & Berks Streets, North Philadelphia, in a neighborhood which lacked a financial institution for more than 60 years, demonstrates a strong commitment and sets TruMark Financial apart from other financial providers.

The Dora Maxwell Award honors credit unions involved in community projects and activities. Last year TruMark Financial raised more than $44,000 through its Third Annual Kiss A Pig Financial Literacy fundraiser and awarded eight local schools each a $5,500 grant for personal finance resources. The fundraiser is an extension of the credit union’s dynamic financial literacy program in which credit union employees conduct personal finance presentations at local schools.
