Catholic Church Welcomes Bensalem Men to the Clergy
Louis Quaglia and John Rodgers will become permanent deacons at an ordination mass in Philadelphia.
Two members of the Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Bensalem will become a part of the Catholic clergy during an ordination ceremony on Saturday at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.
Louis Quaglia and Raymond Scipioni will join the church as permanent deacons. This title allows them to remain married and hold a full-time job. The deacon's responsibilties are to minister the gospel and assist with preaching the word of God. They are not permitted to hear confession, lead Mass or anoint the sick.
Quaglia resides in Bensalem with his wife Marian and their four children, Michele Donnelly, Danielle, Michael and Christopher. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from St. Peter's University and is employed as a Purchasing Supervisor at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. in Bordentown, N.J.

Scipioni lives in Bensalem with his wife Linda and their three daughters, Lori, Carolyn and Isabelle. He holds an MBA in Management Information Systems from LaSalle University and is employed as a Business Development Manager at Avalon Integration.
