Disaster Emergency in Effect Through Thursday

What does Bensalem's snow emergency declaration of disaster mean for you? Read on.

The snow has stopped and you're probably just about finished digging out.

Even though your driveway may be clear, Bensalem's road crews are still busily working to clear roads. To that end, Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo's declaration of a disaster emergency will remain in effect through Thursday, according to the township's Web site.

The township suggests the following tips:

  • Remove vehicles from roadways to enable snow removal
  • Shovel out fire hydrants on or near your property
  • Drive only if necessary
  • In some instances, road access may be restricted to plow trucks and emergency vehicles
  • The township's public works department will get to each street as soon as possible
