“As work continues, PECO urges customers to take precautions for their safety – taking advantage of local warming centers and shelters or making other arrangements to stay safe," PECO wrote in a statement on its website. "It also is a good opportunity to check on neighbors, friends, the elderly and others who may be without service.”

The following will be open as warming centers Tuesday for area residents needing a break from the cold:

Chester County

• Paoli Fire Department
69 Darby Road, Paoli

• East Brandywine Township Municipal Building
1214 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown

Montgomery County:

• Abington Municipal Building
1176 Old York Road, Abington

• Springfield Township Municipal Building
1510 Paper Mill Road, Wyndmoor

The National Weather Service is tracking another major snow and ice storm heading our way, which has the potential to disrupt power service again.

PECO emphasized that it was working around the clock to repair service, but offered no timeline for power restoration for those remaining in the dark.
