PennDOT Restricts Lanes on Route 13

Bristol Pike will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction until September 27.

Bensalem motorists have new traffic problems to deal with starting Monday, July 8.

Through Sept. 27, Route 13 between Street Road and Gibbs Road will be restricted to one lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The new traffic patterns are necessary for PennDOT to widen the road. During construction of the half-mile stretch, travel will be controlled by flagging.

This is just the latest of several road projects that have affected travel in Bensalem. The Richlieu Road turnpike bridge has been closed while crews redirect the road to a replacement overpass, which is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 95 Connection project. The new bridge is expected to open later this summer.

The work on Richlieu gave PECO an opportunity to replace and upgrade a network of underground cables, causing restricted traffic on Mechanicsville Road.
