The investigation into what caused a Bensalem police cruiser to burst into flames is over, authorities said Thursday night.
The fire that destroyed a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria police car, an adjacent employee-owned vehicle and caused minor damage to another car has been determined to be likely "electrical in nature" and no foul play is suspected, Sgt. Andy Aninsman told Patch.
Police are shifting cars around between shifts until a replacement patrol vehicle can be procured, Aninsman said.

Bensalem police, the fire marshal and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the nighttime police car blaze.
The fire caused several rounds of ammunition to be discharged from the police vehicle, which temporarily impaired the responding officials from extinguishing the flames and moving nearby cars to safety on May 27 shortly after 9 p.m.
