Schuler Takes 'The Voice' to Church

Matthew Schuler had another strong performance during the top 12 round of the reality show competition.

Pennsbury grad Matthew Schuler went back to his gospel roots for his top 12 performance on Monday night's episode of NBC's reality competition 'The Voice,' and he created some new disciples along the way.

His stripped-down rendition of Leonard Cohen's haunting "Hallelujah" evoked Jeff Buckley's definitive rendition of the oft-covered song. Adam Levine admitted to Schuler after the performance that he was wary another attempt to capture the magic of the tune would fall flat, but Schuler's flawless vocals proved him wrong.

Following the episode, viewers had the opportunity to vote for Schuler several different ways through Tuesday morning.
