Treat the Kids to Boo at the Zoo

This weekend the Philadelphia Zoo will host special Halloween events from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m as part of Boo at the Zoo.

Fall can be drab, so brighten up your life by getting out of dodge. Luckily, Philadelphia isn't too far away for fall fun—and our Fall in Philly feature can help guide you there.

If you feel like venturing out a little farther from home, check here for a weekly suggestion of something fun or interesting to do in the City of Brotherly Love. Whether it's a restaurant to try, a festival to attend or special museum exhibits, we'll feature something different every Thursday.

Perhaps you're not ready to take your kids on a haunted hayride. Why not treat them to a not-so-scary Halloween event like Boo at the Zoo. Visitors to the Philadelphia Zoo are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and explore the zoo's exhibits, enjoy treats and sweets while playing Halloween games and listening to live music.

Children dressed in costumes can parade around Bird Lake, then venture through the Extinction Graveyard—don't worry; it's not scary. There, guests will learn about the extinction of species around the world. Not-so-spooky stories will be told at the PECO Primate Reserve throughout the day as well.
