Two Teenage Swimmers Missing in Neshaminy Creek

Helicopters and rescue swimmers have been working through the night to find two teenage boys who jumped into the creek Tuesday night.

Helicopters hovered over Neshaminy Creek in Trevose as rescue workers searched for two teenage boys that disappeared in the water.

According to Bensalem Safety Director Fred Harran, three teenage boys jumped into the water at the Neshaminy Falls train station around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night. One of the boys struggled and got out of the water, but the other two went missing.

Harran says that there have been reports of teenagers running through nearby neighborhoods and says it is possible the missing boys, ages between 17 and 19, are trying to elude police.

Until those sightings are confirmed, rescue workers will continue combing both sides of the creek. As of 1:30 a.m. the boys have not been located. The search has been expanded and rescue crews are prepared for the operation to last through the night.

Bristol Road between Old Lincoln Highway and Pine Street has been shut down as the search continues.
