Bill DeFalco, president
When and how did your business get started?
In 1970, at the age of 17, I had the opportunity to work in a transmission repair shop in Philadelphia that was a first class operation. After just a few days I knew that I wanted to own and operate my own shop some day. After 10 years watching and learning, I decided to take the plunge and open a small two-bay shop.
Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?
Bensalem was a no-brainer as far as deciding were to open. We had established a reputation and a following with the local garages and their customers.
At the time, my family and I lived out of the township. But it was one of our goals to live here. Doing business in Bensalem and getting to know the residents and interacting with them gave my wife and I the impression this was where we wanted to raise our family.
What is your business known for?
Over the years we have gained a reputaion with the community for doing quality transmission repairs. We take pride in what we think is a winning businesss philosophy. Being honest. Treating customers with respect. And repairing the vehicles with a "Fix it like it was our own" mentality, which means no short cuts, only quality components and an eye toward a job that's done right.
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
Bill DeFalco Transmission Inc has been in business in Bensalem since 1980. We are proud of the fact that we are the oldest, same owner operated transmission repair shop in the township!
