Parx Slot Machine Revenue Drops 4 Percent in 2013

Gross revenue and slot machine revenues dropped at Parx Casino in 2013 as compared to the previous year.

Parx Casino's annual slot revenue dropped by more than 4 percent in 2013 as compared to 2012, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

That's a decrease from $384,566,136.76 in 2012 to $368,423,344.53 last year.

Statewide, $2.38 billion was generated from slot machine revenue at Pennsylvania's 12 casinos in 2013. That figure amounts to 3.5 percent less than in 2012, according to the board.

Tax generated from slot machine gaming in 2013 was $1,279,534,011.

The board also posted its monthly slot machine revenue report for December, which showed a decrease of 8.7 percent in gross revenue over December of 2012. 

According to figures posted on the board’s Web site, the play of slot machines at the 12 operating casinos produced $178,059,128 in gross revenue in December 2013, compared to the $195,049,653 in gross revenue generated the year prior. The average combined number of slot machines operating daily was 26,591 in December 2013 compared to 26,476 in December 2012.

At Parx Casino in Bensalem, gross revenue dipped 10.91 percent from a $31 million high in 2012 to $27.6 million in 2013.
