Revenues Rise at Parx Tables

Casino makes $7.6 million in January at 152 tables.

In January, revenue from ’s tables was over $850,000 more than December, but not as high as it could have been considering the gambling house had 47 more tables. A likely reason is snow.

According to state Gaming Control Board figures released this week, Parx had $7,632,095 in gross revenue in January on its 152 tables compared to $6,775,955 in December on 105 tables.

Parx made $6,681,119 in November with 81 tables and the following revenues with just 57 tables: $5,793,303 in October; $6,529,448 in September; $6,338,617 in August; and $2,328,599 in July.

When the state released its January slot machine figures two weeks ago, it noted that casinos statewide saw drops over last year’s revenue due to the harsh winter weather that affected travel. At Parx, gross slots revenue in January was down nearly 18 percent from $35,377,125 in 2010 to $29,055,855 this year.

At the tables, Parx is the leader statewide in gross revenue followed by Sands Casino in Bethlehem with $7,090,822 on 100 tables and Harrah’s Casino in Chester at $5,616,750 on 122 tables.

Casino tables benefit taxpayers. In January, Parx table games yielded $1,068,493 in state taxes and $152,642 in local taxes. Since July, the $42.1 million in revenue at Parx tables with $5,891,079 in taxes for the state and $841,582 for the locals.
