Supreme Court Denies Parx Appeal; OKs Valley Forge Casino

Casino less than 25 miles away could cut into Parx revenue.

Against the wishes of officials at Bensalem’s , the state Supreme Court on Tuesday approved a casino license at the Valley Forge Convention Center.

According to a story on PhillyBurbs.com, Parx owners challenged the license which was awarded in 2009, stating that the proposed King of Prussia gaming facility was too close to Bensalem — 24 miles.

“We are pleased that the Supreme Court upheld this licensing decision which allows this project to move forward so it can create jobs, enhance tourism and produce much needed tax revenue for the Commonwealth,” said Gaming Control Board chairman Greg Fajt, in a release.
