Tables at Parx Tops in State Again

Gross revenue hit $8.2 million on casino's 150 tables.

HARRISBURG — topped the state in table game earnings again in February, according to a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board report posted yesterday.

The Bensalem casino had gross revenue of $8.2 million on its 150 tables compared to the next few highest: $6.9 million at Harrah’s 122 tables in Chester; $6.6 million at Sand’s 100 tables in Bethlehem; $5.5 million at Rivers’ 96 tables in Pittsburgh; and $5.2 million at Sugarhouse’s 43 tables in Philadelphia.

Total revenue at the state’s 10 operating casinos in February was $43.6 million on 842 gaming tables.

Parx has been the leader in monthly revenue from the start, except for December when Sands in Bethlehem was higher.

Casinos are taxed 16 percent on table games with 14 percent going to the state and 2 percent going to the host county and municipality.

In February, the state received $6.1 million from all casinos including $1.1 from Parx. Local governments also received $872,531 statewide including $164,080 to Bucks County and Bensalem from Parx.

Since the beginning of this fiscal year in July 2010, table games have provided $47.9 million in state and local taxes.

Parx February revenue was its highest since the state began allowing table games last year.
