Weather Service: Severe Thunderstorm on the Way

Could cause high winds, hail and lightning damage.

At about 2:30 p.m., the National Weather Service in Mount Holly issued at severe thunderstorm warning for Bucks County and surrounding areas.

The warning is in effect until 3:15 p.m.

This thunderstorm is capable of producing damaging winds of up to 60 mph. It is coming from south of Philadelphia.

According to the Weather Service, this is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path, prepare immediately for damaging winds, destructive hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.

This Afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 79. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 11 mph.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 74. South wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 53. West wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. West wind between 7 and 16 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.
