ASI Promotes 3 Senior-Level Employees

The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI; www.asicentral.com) recently announced it has promoted three senior-level employees. ASI is the largest media, marketing and education organization serving the $20.5 billion promotional products industry and 25,000 member suppliers, distributors, decorators and screen printers throughout North America. The family-owned company is based in Trevose, PA.

ASI has promoted Ron Ball to senior vice president of supplier sales, Mary Sells to vice president of supplier sales and Mickee Chai to vice president of ASI’s Project Management Office, which manages all company technology projects, from inception to delivery.

Mr. Ball began his career with ASI in 1978 as a supplier services consultant, progressing to director of sales, executive director of national corporate accounts and, in 2006, to vice president of supplier sales. In January 2013, Mr. Ball celebrated his 35th anniversary with the company.

Ms. Sells started working at ASI in 2004 after 20 years in senior sales, marketing and executive positions with both suppliers and distributors.

“Both Ron and Mary are incredibly strong representatives of ASI,” said ASI CEO Tim Andrews. “We can hardly attend an event or walk a trade show without being stopped by someone who wants to compliment Mary or Ron for an idea they’ve provided or an opportunity they presented – or to offer a story about one of them going the extra mile for a supplier.”

Ms. Chai has worked for ASI since 1988, assuming more and more responsibilities and mastering everything from products and lists analytics to campaign management and registration for the company’s five national trade shows. Ms. Chai joined ASI’s technology team in 2012. In December 2013, she celebrated her 25th anniversary with ASI.

"Mickee Chai is invaluable to ASI, but what impresses me most is her ability to successfully manage multi-faceted teams, guiding them toward seamless delivery of products and updates,” said Armughan Rafat, executive vice president of ASI and chief technology officer of the ASI Family of Companies. “I am confident that under her leadership the dedicated employees on the PMO team will become even stronger.”
