Customers Bank and Harold Carmichael help make MWA’s Harvest Day at Shady Brook Farm a rousing success

Wyomissing, PA, (Sep 26, 2013) – With balloons for the kiddies, a wind-driven cash machine for the adults and a special appearance by legendary Philadelphia Eagle Harold Carmichael, the Customers Bank booth was a popular destination at MWA’s Harvest Day at Shady Brook Farm, held this past Saturday, Sept. 21.

“This was a great opportunity not only to come out and meet our many friends, neighbors and customers, but also to demonstrate our support for a very hard-working, tenacious and highly committed community organization, the Lower Makefield Women’s Association,” said Warren Taylor, President of Community Banking for Customers Bank. “The weather was spectacular and the crowd of people who came to enjoy all the festivities was just tremendous.”

Customers Bank was the primary “Diamond” sponsor of MWA’s Harvest Day at Shady Brook Farm. In addition to helping to underwrite the event, Customers Bank brought in one of the most renowned names in Philadelphia Eagles’ football history to help spur interest and attendance, former wide receiver and a star of the Eagle’s 1980 Super Bowl team.

“We were so happy to be able to have Harold Carmichael as our guest at Harvest Day. This was a real pleasure, especially for those of us who remember the kind of high-level player he was – a real team player, one who played hard, but played fair – qualities that he continues to display,” Taylor said.

“In his current role as Director of Player Programs for the Eagles, Harold works with the players to help them develop life skills, financial education, family assistance, career internships and continuing education – so he understands the importance of community events like this, and why we wanted to help support MWA in their continuing efforts,” Taylor said.

“As a community bank, part of our goal is to to support programs and activities that help strengthen the framework of the community,” Taylor said. “We’ve made a commitment to Bucks County by providing loans to businesses and other enterprises. But we also believe that by supporting organizations such as MWA, we hope to contribute to a stronger community and business environment in the long-term.”
