issued a release this morning confirming reports from last night that a vehicle crashed in Trevose killing one and injuring two others.
On Monday, Sept. 3 at 10:25 p.m., police responded to 3153 Lincoln Highway (the Driver’s Choice store) for a report of a one-vehicle crash.
Police said a 2000 Volvo sedan was found to have left the northbound lanes of Lincoln Highway, rolled several times and struck the Driver’s Choice sign and caught fire.
Witnesses told police that this vehicle was racing another vehicle at the time of the crash. An off-duty officer who witnessed the crash described the other vehicle as a white Ford Crown Victoria.
The driver and front passenger, who were ejected during the accident, were transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital for treatment. The rear female passenger died while still inside the vehicle. Their identities are not being released at this time, as proper notifications still need to be made, police said.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Anyone with information on this crash should contact Bensalem Township Police at 215-633-3719.
