Regional Roundup: Bensalem Mother Arrested in Child Abuse Investigation

Doylestown businesses feel threatened by Amazon's discount program and MCCC's budget might mean cutting education for some.

: After a lengthy investigation by the police department's Special Victims Unit, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office and Bucks County Children and Youth, a 24-year-old mother was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault.

: Starting Saturday, Amazon will offer consumers discounts in exchange for providing competitors’ prices. One Doylestown local business owner said, "What’s ironic is they claim they want to work with independent businesses, but all they’re really trying to do is put independent businesses under."

: Montgomery County Community College students voiced concerns over the proposed $11 per credit hour tuition increase under the proposed county budget. At that rate, increases would amount to $132 a semester for a full-time student carrying 12 credits.
