This could be life threatening for those without air conditioning or who work outside during the hottest time of the day. Children, the elderly and pets are at the greatest risk.

The Weather Service says to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
