Weekend Rain Could Relieve Seasonal Allergies

Rain is predicted for Saturday and Sunday.

Although rain during a spring weekend is not always welcome, those recently suffering from seasonal allergies should feel some relief from this weekend's forecast.

According to Weather.com, it will be sunny in this area Friday, but there is a high chance of rain later in the day Saturday and all day Sunday. Daytime highs are expected to be in the low 60s to mid 70s throughout the weekend.

According to the Huffington Post, a new Gallup-Healthways report shows that this year's allergy season is stronger than last year, largely because the winter was so warm this year, which can cause trees to pollinate earlier, and because of the higher pollen counts throughout the U.S.

However, if you are a part of the 22.8 percent of Americans that have reported suffering from allergy symptoms so far this April, the rain this weekend will help reduce the pollen count.

Weather.com reports that while a light rain doesn't do much to relieve allergies, heavy rain, which is expected this weekend, can clean the air for the hours during and after it falls.
