Bucks County Sheriff Among Tuesday's Contested Races

Democrat Dennis McCauley is challenging incumbent Republican Edward "Duke" Donnelly.

When you head to the polls Tuesday, you’ll be voting for the next Bucks County sheriff.

Democrat Dennis McCauley is challenging incumbent Republican Edward "Duke" Donnelly. Donnelly has been in office for 10 years.

McCauley, a 27-year veteran of the Abington Township Police Department, is a currently a Doylestown Borough councilman. He has lived in Bucks County for 25 years and is married with three children. He has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Villanova University.

McCauley’s experience also includes four years as director of security at Bucks County Community College. 

Donnelly is the former police chief in Lower Southampton Township. He has served as sheriff since 2003. He is seeking a fourth term.
