Six Candidates Vying for Township Council

Bensalem Township Council Republican incumbents are facing challenges from Democrat contenders.

Six candidates are running for three seats on the 5-0 Republican-controlled Bensalem Township Council. 

The council is comprised of five members, as well as a mayor, who each serve four-year terms. Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo is running unopposed for another term. 

Republican incumbents Tony Belfield, Joseph Pilieri and John Mathieu are facing challenges from Democrats Bryan Allen, Bhasker Patel and Kevin Brutschea

If the Democrats are elected, control of the governing body would shift to 3-2 Democrat-controlled. 

Patch sent questionnaires to all candidates in order to post profiles on each candidate vying for a seat. Republican candidates did not respond to multiple requests sent through the Bensalem Republican Committee.
