Holy Family Women's Basketball Senior Kelly Brady Named CACC Player of the Week (12/04/12)
New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University women's basketball senior guard Kelly Brady (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 2 as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
This marks the first time that Brady has earned the conference's weekly honors in her career.
Brady helped lead Holy Family to three wins last week as the Tigers extended its winning streak to six games to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. Holy Family defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference contest on Nov. 26 by the score of 54-35 and followed it up with another road win against Georgian Court University (75-60) in a CACC contest Wednesday. The Tigers capped the week with a conference road victory versus Dominican College on Saturday (74-48).
Brady highlighted the week with a 23-point and 11-rebound performance at Georgian Court as she recorded her third double-double of the season. Her 23 points also set a new career-high as she shot 10-of-17 from the field and 3-of-5 from the free throw line.
For the week, Brady averaged 12.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting .567-percent (17-30) from the field.
This season Brady is averaging 10.7 points and a team-best 8.9 rebounds per game. She currently leads the conference with a .593-percent shooting from the field.
Holy Family (6-1, 3-0 CACC), ranked 13th in the recent USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II National Top-25 Coaches' Poll, will travel to cross-town rival Philadelphia University tonight for a CACC match up. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
