In the third, the Bears tacked on two more runs to lead 5-0 thanks to run scoring hits by senior Samantha Gallagher and junior Kristina Rozelle.   Gallagher went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Holy Family finally broke through in its half of the third scoring a pair of runs to cut the New York Tech lead to 5-2.  Bunda led the inning off with a double to center field and advanced to third after Daubert singled to right.  The Tigers then received back-to-back ground balls by Dalton and freshman Alicia Alvarado (Palmdale, Calif./Paraclete) that scored Bunda and Daubert respectively.  Bunda finished the game 3-for-3 with three runs, while Daubert went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Game Two: Holy Family 5, New York Tech 1

Dalton supplied Holy Family with all the offense it would need, while Alligood came through with seven strong innings in the pitching circle on the way to the game two victory.

Dalton led the first inning off with a solo home run as the Tigers led 1-0 to start things off.  It wouldn't be until the fifth that Dalton doubled the Tigers lead with another lead off solo shot to center field to make the score 2-0.

Alvarado followed with a single to center and then stole second base to put herself in scoring position.  The very next batter, sophomore Kristy Tomlinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter), then drove in Alvarado with a single up the middle to increase the Tigers' lead to 3-0.

New York Tech broke up Alligood's bid for a shutout in the sixth inning scoring its lone run of the game off a sacrifice fly to right field by Gallagher.  Senior Adrianna Valencia scored on the play after reach base off a single earlier in the inning.

Alligood improved to 5-5 after a complete game performance where she allowed one run off six hits, while striking out four batters.

The Tigers responded to the Bears' run in the sixth with two scores in their half of the inning.  With two outs, Daubert doubled down the left field line setting the stage for Dalton.  Already with two home runs on the day, Dalton capped the game with her third.  This time it was a two-run shot as Holy Family took a 5-1 lead.

Alligood went on to retire New York Tech in order in the seventh to close out the game.

As mentioned, Dalton went 3-for-3 at the plate to go along with four RBI and three runs.  Tomlinson (2-for-3) and Daubert (2-for-3) also had multiple hits in the victory.

Holy Family is back in action on Monday, April 15 as the Tigers travel to face Dominican College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader in Orangeburg, N.Y.   Game one is slated for 3 p.m.
