Tigers Come Up Short Versus Wilmington, 3-1

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team won the first set, however Wilmington University responded winning the next three sets to defeat the Tigers 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Friday night at the Campus Center Gym.
 
Holy Family's three game-winning streak was snapped as a result as the Tigers are now 6-14 overall and 4-5 in conference play.  With the win, Wilmington improves to 16-4 overall and remains undefeated in CACC action at 8-0.
 
Holy Family took the first set by the score of 25-23, while Wilmington took the next three by the scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-21 to take the match.
 
Senior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) and freshman Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) led the Holy Family attack with nine kills apiece.  Przybylowicz also tallied ten digs and led the team with four service aces.  Sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) tallied seven kills to go along with six digs, while junior Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) led the match with 36 set assists.  Keegan also recorded ten digs.
 
Freshman Madi McShane finished with a match-high 20 digs, while junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) contributed six kills.
 
For Wilmington, junior Brittany Biddle and senior Nicole Wiechecki finished the match with double figures in kills.  Biddle tallied a match-best 14 kills, while Wiechecki finished with 12 kills and ten digs.  Freshman Alex Siolos led the team with 28 set assists to go along with five kills and five digs.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 6 as the Tigers travel to face Bloomfield College in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 12 p.m.
