Tigers Rally For 3-2 Victory Over Bloomfield

Bloomfield, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team had three players record double-digit kills as the Tigers rallied to defeat Bloomfield College, 3-2, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at the Bloomfield Gym.
 
Holy Family improves to 7-14 overall and 5-5 in conference action, while Bloomfield drops to 2-10 overall and 1-10 in conference play.
 
Holy Family dropped the first set by the score of 25-23, but bounced back and took set two by the score of 25-21 to tie the match at 1-1.  Bloomfield regained the match lead with a 25-23 win in set number three, however the Tigers once again rallied back and took set four (25-21) to tie the match at 2-2.  Holy Family then took the fifth and decisive set by the score of 15-13 to win the match by the score of 3-2. 
 
Senior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) and freshmen Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) all tallied double digits in kills.  Herring led the team with 14 kills to go along with a career-best nine service aces.  Herring also finished with an attack percentage of .440.
 
Sabatano recorded 12 kills to go along with eight digs, while Przybylowicz finished with 11 kills and six digs.  Junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) finished the match with nine kills to go along with four solo blocks. Sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) led the match with 46 set assists, while freshman Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) finished with eight kills and 12 digs.  Freshman Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led the team with 20 digs. 
 
For Bloomfield, Karol Oliveros and Deandra Black led the attack for the Deacons.  Oliveros tallied a match-high 17 kills to go along with 18 digs, while Black finished with 14 kills.  Allison Hart led the team with 23 set assists and seven digs. 
 
Holy Family is back in action on Friday, Oct. 12 as the Tigers travel to face the University of the Sciences in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
