Holy Family senior Erin Mann named CACC Women's Basketball Player of the Week (01/03/13)

New Haven, Conn. - Holy Family University women's basketball senior forward Erin Mann (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 1 as announced by the conference office Wednesday evening.

This marks the second time this season that Mann has been recognized as the conference's Player of the Week and fourth time in her career.  She was previously recognized for the week ending Nov. 18.

Mann helped lead the Tigers to a pair of road victories over the Holiday break as Holy Family defeated the University of the Sciences, 70-41, on Dec. 19 and West Chester University (72-61) on Dec. 30.

Mann nearly averaged a double-double during the course of both games as she averaged 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest.  She also shot .548-percent (17-31) from the field and 7-of-11 from the free throw line.  In addition, Mann totaled seven assists, six blocks and two steals.

Against West Chester, Mann recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a 23-point and ten-rebound performance.

This season, Mann is averaging 17.2 points per game, which ranks fourth in the conference, and 8.5 rebounds per game (7th in CACC).  She is also the conference's top-shooter with a .513 shooting percentage from the field.

Holy Family (12-1, 6-0 CACC), ranked 11th in the recent USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II National Top-25 Coaches' Poll, returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 5 as the Tigers travel to face Caldwell College in the CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
