Mann Selected to Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team

Senior Erin Mann was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team (02/01/13)

Philadelphia, Pa. - Holy Family University women's basketball senior forward Erin Mann (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in the East Region.  The East Region consists of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Northeast-10 Conference.

As a first team selection, Mann is now eligible for the Academic All-America team, which will be announced later this month.  This marks the first time in her career that Mann has been selected to the Academic All-District team.  Mann is also the second student-athlete from Holy Family to earn Academic All-District honors this academic year.  Junior volleyball standout Sarah Ambach was recognized in the fall.

Mann is on the verge of another career season this year as she ranks among the conference leaders in a number of offensive and defensive categories.  She currently ranks first in shooting percentage (.554), first in blocks (57), second in points per game (17.6), ninth in total rebounds (162) and tenth in rebounds per game (8.1).

Furthermore, in the recent NCAA Division II statistic report (Jan. 27), Mann was listed sixth among the nation's leaders in blocks per game and 24th with eight double-doubles.  As a team, Holy Family is ranked second in scoring defense.  The Tigers have held their opponents to just 49.4 points per game this season.

Last month, Mann became the third player in program history to score at least 1,600 points and record at least 800 rebounds in a career.  She currently has 1,663 career points and 820 career rebounds.  Mann ranks sixth all-time in program history in points and fifth in rebounds.  She is also second all-time with 214 career blocks.

In the classroom, Mann is a Sport Marketing-Management major and sports a 3.31 cumulative grade point average.

Holy Family, ranked eighth in the recent USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II National Top-25 Coaches' Poll, is currently 18-2 overall and 12-1 in the CACC.  The team is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 2 with a road trip at Post University.  Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
