Tigers Compete at Coppin State Invitational
Holy Family Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Donald Webster Invitational (4/13/13)
RESULTS
Baltimore, Md. - The Holy Family University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the annual Donald Webster Invitational hosted by Coppin State University Saturday afternoon at the Coppin State Track.
On the men's side, senior Patrick Monteith (Philadelphia, Pa/LaSalle) set a new career-best in the 100-meter dash as he finished 13th overall. Monteith recorded a time of 11.67 seconds. He also competed in the 200-meter dash setting a season-best time of 23.80 seconds (21st). Senior Robert Landgraf (Abington, Pa./Abington) also competed in the event for the first time this season recording a time of 26.59 (25th) seconds.
Senior John Hill (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) also recorded a new season-best time in the 1,500-meter run. He finished fifth overall in a time of 4:23.45 and was followed by teammate senior David Richardson (Fairless Hills, Pa.) who finished sixth with a time of 4:31.91.
Junior Travis Perinho (Riverside, N.J./Riverside) finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles as he crossed the finish line in 16.01 seconds. Perinho also competed in the long jump event along with junior Thomas Mandese (Woodridge, N.J./Bergen Catholic). Perinho finished 17th overall with a distance of 18' 10” (5.74m), while Mandese finished 18th with a distance of 14'5.35” (4.40m). Mandese's distance was a season-best. He also competed in the shot put and finished seventh with a distance of 41' 8.75” (12.72m).
The Holy Family 4x400-meter relay team finished fifth overall as the quartet of Richardson, freshman Louise Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Perinho and Hill finished in a time of 3:37.51.
On the women's side, freshman Julia Porter (Audubon, N.J. /Audubon) finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 1:17.19. Fellow classmate Lisa Abramski (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) also recorded a top-ten finish as she competed in the 100-meter hurdles. Abramski finished in a time of 18.64 seconds. In the long jump, Abramski finished 15th after recording a distance of 14' 6” (4.42m).
Also in the field events, junior Rachael Dillinger and freshman Jeanne Berry (Mallaga, N.J./Delsea Regional) recorded top-ten showings after finishing seventh and eighth respectively. Dillinger recorded a distance of 31' 8.75” (9.67m), while Berry came away with a distance of 29' 11.5” (9.13). It marked the first time that Berry competed in the shot put event this season.
Berry also competed in the 100-meter dash along with Porter and sophomore Jade Myers (). Porter finished (19th) in a time of 14.26 seconds and was followed by Myers (21st -15.26) and Berry (22nd - 15.51).
The Tigers also had two sprinters compete in the 200-meter dash as junior Delainey Price (Cheltenham, Md./Frederick Douglas) and freshman Jennifer Boyle (Monroe Woodbury, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) finished 26th and 27th respectively. Price recorded a time of 29.35 seconds, while Boyle finished in a time of 33.05 seconds.
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 20 as the Tigers compete in the CTC Championships hosted by Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
