Tigers Compete at Towson Invitational

Holy Family Track & Field competes at Towson Invitational (3/30/13)

Towson, Md. - The Holy Family University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the annual Towson Invitational hosted by Towson University at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday.
 
On the men's side, senior Patrick Monteith (Philadelphia, Pa/LaSalle) recorded two top-ten finishes on the afternoon in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.  Monteith finished ninth in the 100-meters after recording a new career-best time of 11.82 seconds.  He followed that up with a tenth place showing in the 200-meters after recording a time of 23.87 seconds.
 
Fellow sprinter freshman Louise Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) finished fourth in the 400-meter dash after recording a time of 52.00 seconds setting a new career-best. 
 
The Tigers also recorded two top-ten finishes in the 1,500-meter run.  Seniors John Hill (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) and David Richardson (Fairless Hills, Pa.) finished eighth and ninth respectively in the event.  Hill finished in a time of 4:25.02, while Richardson crossed the finish line in 4:29.14. 
 
Junior Travis Perinho (Riverside, N.J./Riverside) recorded a personal-best in the 110-meter hurdles as he finished fifth overall.  Perinho tallied a time of 16.13 seconds.  He also competed in the long jump as he finished seventh overall.  Perinho recorded a distance of 18' 10” (5.74m). 
 
Also in the field events, junior Thomas Mandese (Woodridge, N.J./Bergen Catholic) finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40' 9” (12.42).  He also recorded a sixth place showing in the discus event after recording a career-best distance of 101' 2” (30.83m). 
 
Also on the men's side, the Tigers' 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Simone, Hill, Perinho and Richardson finished fifth overall.  The quartet recorded a time of 3:37.26. 
 
On the women's side, junior Delainey Price (Cheltenham, Md./Frederick Douglas) recorded a new personal-best in the 200-meter dash as she finished 15th overall.  Price crossed the finish line in a time of 26.80 seconds.  Freshman Jennifer Boyle (Monroe Woodbury, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) also competed in the event as she recorded a time of 28.92 seconds (27th). 
 
Price and Boyle also competed in the 400-meter dash for the Tigers.  Price finished tenth overall with a season-best time of 1:01.90, while Boyle finished 21st in a time of 1:04.69. 
 
In the 100-meter dash, sophomore Alexis Harris (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) finished 12th overall in a time of 13.22 seconds.  Freshman Julia Porter (Audubon, N.J. /Audubon) (27th - 14.49) and sophomore Jade Myers () (27th - 15.34) also competed in the event. 
 
Freshman Lisa Abramski (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) finished 13th in the 100-meter hurdles as she recorded a season-best time of 17:59.  She also recorded a season-best distance in the long jump.  Abramski finished 23rd overall with a distance of 14' 10.5” (4.53m).
 
Also in the field events, junior Rachael Dillinger recorded season-best distances in both the shot put and discus events.  She finished 14th in the shot put with a distance of 32' 10.25” (10.01m) and ninth in the discus event with a distance of 102' 8” (31.29m). 
 
Freshman Jeanne Berry (Mallaga, N.J./Delsea Regional) came through with a fifth place showing in the javelin event.  Berry recorded a distance of 117' 8” (35.88m).
 
Holy Family will compete next on Saturday, April 6 at the Stockton Osprey Open hosted by Richard Stockton College.
