GAME TWO BOX SCORE

Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University softball team suffered a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loses as the Tigers dropped a doubleheader at Georgian Court University by the scores of 10-5 and 3-0.

Holy Family is now 16-20 overall and 10-8 in the CACC, while Georgian Court improves to 22-22 overall and 15-6 in conference action.  The Tigers are currently sixth in the CACC standings, while the Lions stand in fifth place.

Game One: Georgian Court 10, Holy Family 5

Holy Family scored the first runs of the game with a three run second inning as the Tigers led 3-0 early.  The Tigers received back-to-back singles by freshmen Alexis Daubert (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) and Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) to start the inning.  Two batters later senior Lindsey Iden (Rushland, Pa./Council Rock North) came through with a run scoring single up the middle to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage.

As the inning progressed, Holy Family received run scoring hits by junior Erin Corrado (Fair Hill, Md./St. Mark's (Del.)) and fellow classmate AnnMarie Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) who capped the inning with an RBI double to left center field.

The lead would be short lived as Georgian Court answered right back in its half of the second with one swing of the bat.  With two outs and runners at second and third, sophomore Alyssa Paradiso came through with a three-run homer over the left field fence to tie the game at 3-3.

Paradiso's home run sparked the offense as the Lions went on to score ten unanswered runs before the Tigers came back with two in the top half of the seventh inning.

Corrado connected on her team-leading fifth home run of the season in the seventh inning to make to the score 10-5.  Senior Deanna Myers (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) scored on the long ball after leading the inning off with a single.  Corrado finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate to go along with three RBI.

Junior Kristina Morgan (9-7) picked up the victory for the Lions after pitching 5.1 innings of relief.  Morgan allowed two runs off two hits, while striking out six batters.  She held the Tigers hitless the first 4.1 innings of relief after coming in for starting pitcher, senior Illiana Teran.

Game Two: Georgian Court 3, Holy Family 0

Georgian Court scored the game's only runs in the first inning after junior Taylor McDonough hit a three-run home run over the left field fence.  McDonough finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate.

Starting pitcher junior Deanna Daluise (9-7) picked up the victory after limiting Holy Family to only three hits through a complete game performance.  She finished the game with three strikeouts.

Junior Rachael Alligood (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) pitched 5.2 innings for the Tigers in relief of starting pitcher, sophomore Sarah Chilutti (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) (2-5).  Alligood scattered five hits and struck out three batters.

Dalton, Daubert and Iden tallied the team's only hits for the Tigers.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 20 as the Tigers host Concordia College in a CACC doubleheader at Helen Randle Park in Newtown.  Game one is slated for 12 p.m.
