Tigers Picked 8th in CACC Preseason Softball Poll

Holy Family picked 8th in annual CACC Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll (02/18/13)

New Haven, Conn. - The Holy Family University softball team has been selected to finish eighth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this season as voted by the conference’s 14 head coaches in the annual CACC Softball Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Holy Family received 107 points in this year’s poll and is slated to finish eighth this season for the final postseason spot.  The top eight teams in the final regular season conference standings advance to the CACC Tournament at the end of April.

“We try not to pay too much attention to preseason polls or predictions and are instead staying focused on working our process - one day, one pitch, one inning, and one game at a time,” said third year head coach Davon Ortega.  “We know that if we stay focused on the little things, our long-term goals will be accomplished. Being selected to finish eighth provides us with an opportunity to surprise a lot of people and adds more fuel to our motivational fire to take our program to a higher level.”
