Holy Family Senior Wins Regional Scholarship from Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society

Holy Family senior Sarah Ambach was awarded a Regional Scholarship from the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business. The scholarship is designed for Delta Mu Delta members who have an interest in furthering their education. Ambach, who was inducted into the Honor Society in April, plans to use the scholarship to help pay for law school expenses.

The Honor Society was founded 100 years ago in 1913 by the Dean of Harvard University and four professors from Yale and New York University. This year, it has awarded 38 scholarships and 24 Regional Awards worth $59,000 to outstanding business students around the world. These scholarships are awarded based off of three criteria: academic record and performance, leadership and service to the academic institution and community, and character and ethical behavior.

Ambach is a Management-Marketing major with a minor in Communications. She is also heavily involved in extra-curricular activities at Holy Family. Amongst other activities, Ambach is a member of and President of both the Business Society and the Veritas (Pre-Law) Society, Vice-President of the Mu Gamma Chapter of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, and a member of the Women’s volleyball team (NCAA Division II).

Her decision to go to law school and to become a lawyer stems from the fact that it aligns with many of her personal characteristics and interests: “I feel that I am a hard-working individual with an analytical mind. Researching and delving into the history of things interests me. I have put serious thought into my decision to attend law school and pursue a career in law.” With her business degree from Holy Family and the help of the Honor Society scholarship, Ambach plans to pursue her goal in order to become an intellectual property or corporate lawyer.
